Nepal Eye Program was officially launched in July 1992 to support the prevention & control of blindness in Nepal and the region. Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (TIO) is the implementing body of the Nepal Eye Program, a not-for-profit, community-based organization.

Founded by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche in 2004, Nalanda West offers programs and events inspired by the Five Fields of Knowledge originally taught at Nalanda University. The event center is mostly volunteer-run by Nalandabodhi, a Buddhist community under the direction of Ponlop Rinpoche.
